What Is a NonMillennial? over 35, generation’s traits

by Maryanne

A NonMillennial is … someone who is over 35 and has had to give up their generation’s traits to adapt to or help guide and/or communicate with Millennials on a regular basis.

Now some people cannot claim this title.

For instance … If you are a grandparent with a child who is 36+, and your grandchildren are under 13, you cannot term yourself a NonMillennial.

If you have the same scenario, plus you have to work with someone under 36 more than 10 hours a week, then you can assert NonMillennial status.

True, it can be complicated.

Centricity

The key to the whole scenario is this … a NonMillennial must interact and revolve around a Millennial(s) in a meaningful way.

Levels of Millennial/NonMillennial

So, yes, there are levels of NonMillennialness.

The question becomes … is it something to strive for?  It’s the “to be or not to be” of the 36+ crowd (and some day the 13 and under crowd).

For Perspective – Here is the list of previous generations and their new NonMillennial names.

Again, you can only claim these if you interact with Millennials.  Otherwise, you keep the generation name you were born into.

Here’s the list …
